There is increased demand for goods, services and high-quality solutions in Baltic States as in any society with rapid development. However, it is mainly limited to issues related to service or product brand.
At the same time, global processes take place that can have a significant effect on the development of each society:
- The rapid growth in traditional energy resource prices that affects global economic development processes.
- Increase of gasses causing the green-house effect in the atmosphere that determines changes in the climate.
- Degradation of the environment caused as a result of industrial development and wrong resource use policy.
Following these processes and public pressure, certification schemes are being developed globally as well as other management supervision systems in order to promote more careful use of resources and better environment-friendly management.
Society becomes more focused on careful use of the environment and natural resources, even though now it is not yet active in issues related to living space quality. This includes searching for sustainable, complex solutions on how to use all kinds of energy, water, local, renewable and other resources in a more optimal way in order to create high-quality, aesthetic, healthy and environment-friendly living spaces.
Taking into consideration the existing situation and urgent necessity to ensure the transfer of knowledge on global experience and practice in Green construction, on 22 November 2007 Colliers International in cooperation with the Society “Zalas Majas”, Pasaules Dabas Fonds and the main sponsor SIA “Jaunrigas Attistibas Uznemums”, is holding a 3rd International seminar for industry professionals - “Sustainable Development – Green Building” in Reval Hotel Latvija, hall Alfa
